Server Pinger Re-release!

Sun, 09 Nov 2008 15:27:24 GMT

Well, I said I was updating some of the freeware I usually have here.  Here's the latest effort, the new and improved Server Pinger 1.0.  I didn't add any major new features, but I cleaned up the way it works and added support for saving lists, etc.

I'm still going to add some additional features like SQL Server testing, web server testing, and other server-specific testing in addition to ping times.

If anyone has any feature requests for version 2, post a comment to this posting.

Advanced Search 2.1 Released

Tue, 04 Nov 2008 13:24:36 GMT

I finally started re-releasing the freeware that I had on this site.  But, I can't just leave well enough alone.  I've updated Advanced Search to version 2.1.  There are some cosmetic tweaks, a few bug fixes, and I've finished the Batch features.

So, not only does Advanced Search find files quickly, but you can also use it to rename an entire directory of files (including sub-directories) or move files from one place to another (based on filter).  I like to use the Batch Move feature to move all the MP3s from folders that I've downloaded into my iTunes folder.

If you find any interesting uses for Advanced Search, login and post comments on this post.

Download Advanced Search from the product page:

Thanks,

Sean

Houdini ID3 Tagger Released

Mon, 29 Sep 2008 23:05:44 GMT

Here's the first in a batch of new software I'm going to be releasing over the winter.  I'm also working on new versions of Server Pinger, the MySpace API, and some other new tools.  Give this one a shot, it still has a while to go, but it already has some useful applications.

I use it for clearing out comments from my music collection's tags and generally fixing all the ID3 tags to a standard.  Especially with Apple's Genius feature, it's important to keep your music organised.

Check out the main page for it here:  www.dojotech.com/Topics/Software/Houdini_ID3_Tagger/
